The Anchorage Lifestyle Village is Northland’s exclusive waterfront retirement community, offering residents and the public access to its café, bar and shared lounge spaces. Acorn Furniture collaborated with Spaceworks and Hopper Living to curate a furniture package that complemented the stunning coastal setting and delivered on the vision of the village.
From the early stages, Acorn Furniture supported spatial planning and provided furniture suggestions to help inform budgets, ensuring each area was practical and aligned with the overall design intent. The project also included designing and prototyping bespoke pieces, as well as fitting out the Acorn Furniture showroom with key items to gather feedback before installation. This hands-on approach ensured the spaces were functional, visually cohesive, and tailored to the needs of both residents and public visitors.
Bespoke Café Banquette Seating and Elevated Design Details
The lounge and café are separated by custom Kingsview banquette seating, a standout bespoke feature that brings warmth, functionality, and subtle separation to the open-plan space. The banquette is paired with Lane Square Pedestal Tables with melamine tops and Zanda Arm Chairs with a wider profile, providing practical comfort.
Brooklyn Square Tables and Leo Arm Chairs, which occupy the majority of the café, feature subtle curves and elevated design details. The square format of the tables allows for flexible groupings throughout the space. Guided by Acorn, the layout balances usability and aesthetic cohesion, creating a café area that feels considered and inviting.
Relaxed Lounging with Waterfront Views
Overlooking the idyllic waterways at Marsden Cove through floor-to-ceiling windows, the lounge is a light-filled, inviting environment. Seating is arranged in pods with varied scales and forms, encouraging social interaction and community engagement while also allowing moments to enjoy the scenery. Timber tones and coastal-inspired accent colours create cohesion throughout, resulting in a practical, welcoming lounge that feels relaxed, comfortable and connected to its surroundings.
Elevated Design, Thoughtfully Adapted
Acorn Furniture combined its own elevated designs with those of our sister lifestyle brand, Woodwrights, adapting key pieces to the needs of a retirement environment. Seat heights, depths and proportions were carefully refined for comfort, accessibility and ease of use, while finishes and detailing were tailored to complement the light-filled, coastal setting. The result is a cohesive collection that unites the craftsmanship of both brands in a way that feels perfectly aligned with the character and atmosphere of The Anchorage.
Delivered and Installed With Care
Acorn Furniture managed full delivery and installation with our in-house freight team, including placement, assembly and removal of all packaging, ensuring every area was arranged accordingly and ready to use.
