The Pavilion is one of the largest and most comprehensive community facilities within a New Zealand retirement village. With its picturesque lake views, it seamlessly integrates with the Lake House to create a serene, resort-like environment. The expansive facility designed by Peddlethorp has been meticulously crafted with interiors by Space Studio. The thoughtful and timeless design emphasises natural materials, filling the interiors with warmth and character.
A Tailored Furniture Package
Acorn Furniture worked closely with Space Studio to tailor a furniture package that achieved the unique look and desired feel for the space, while ensuring practicality for residents. With a mix of 20% Signature product and 80% Bespoke, Acorn drew on its expertise in care environments to craft a solution that combined high-end and custom pieces. The result is an exceptional interior balanced with essential functionality.
Confidence in the Outcome
During the procurement process, Acorn delivered a custom Marli Table sample with an upholstered insert to site for sign-off. As this piece plays a central role in the dining spaces, providing a physical sample ensured confidence in the final outcome and alignment with the design intent.
A Cohesive Interior Journey
Acorn furnished spaces throughout the Pavilion, from the eatery and lounge bar to the library, billiards room, and wellness suite. Each area was carefully considered to support its function while contributing to a consistent and connected experience across the facility. Timber finishes were thoughtfully coordinated throughout, enhancing warmth and continuity and creating a cohesive interior that flows seamlessly from one setting to the next.

Acorn’s in-house freight and installation team managed full-service delivery across the Pavilion, ensuring each piece arrived on time, in full, and without damage. Where required, items were assembled and carefully positioned, with all packaging and waste removed, creating a seamless and considered fitout throughout the spaces.
